Description

BARITE is primarily used in drilling under high ground or aquifer pressures. In aqueous solution, its main applications are:

  • When added to an activated drilling fluid, it significantly increases the density and fluid-carrying capacity of the drilling fluid.
  • To reinforce and provide greater stability to the borehole walls.
  • Prevent siphoning when drilling into confined aquifers at medium and high pressure.
