Description
A pure anionic polymer used as a thickening agent in the production of polymeric drilling muds.
It is commonly used in drilling operations involving gravel, sand, and silt—which may or may not be plastic—ensuring higher core recovery.
Usage and Features
- Facilitates drilling at granular levels due to its “lubricating” effect.
- To reinforce and provide greater stability to the borehole walls.
- Prevent siphoning when drilling into low-pressure confined aquifers.
- To facilitate the removal of debris from inside the borehole.
- To facilitate the cooling of the high-performance pure anionic polymer drill bit or core bit.
