QUIMAPOL CL-400 is a liquid organic copolymer that, due to its ease of handling, is commonly used in drilling operations involving very fine granular material, or clays and silts with low plasticity, ensuring higher performance of the drilling equipment.

Usage and Features

QUIMAPOL CL-400 is primarily used in drilling operations involving very fine granular material, clays, and silts with low plasticity. When dissolved in water, it forms a high-viscosity gel whose main applications are:

  • A thickening agent for both fresh water and saltwater.
  • Facilitates drilling due to its “lubricating” effect.
  • To reinforce and provide greater stability to the borehole walls.
  • Prevent siphoning when drilling into low-pressure confined aquifers.
  • To facilitate the removal of debris from inside the borehole.
  • To facilitate the cooling of the drill bit or drill bit crown.
